The Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority, in collaboration with the Office of the President, participated in the activities of the Abu Dhabi Councils, where an informational lecture entitled “Public Safety in Homes” was held in the Council of Supervisors and it was presented by Lt. Engineer Salem Hashem Al-Habashi, director of the authority’s public security department.
The participation comes as part of the authority’s efforts to spread a culture of preventive awareness among members of the local community, where participants were introduced to the types of houses in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi according to the current classifications and their safety requirements, and it was noted that fire accidents and injuries often arising either as a result of human error or negligence or Technical failure of equipment or equipment.
The lecture also included an introduction to the types of hazards found in buildings (apartments and private residences), ways to prevent and limit them, and an introduction to the roles and responsibilities of property owners (apartments and residents) and the importance of their cooperation with authorization to create a safe residential environment.
The lecture touched on the importance of the evacuation plan in case of emergency, the procedures to be followed in case of accidents, the definition of types of fire extinguishers, how to use them and handling fire, inform them about the process regarding evacuation, shelter and assembly, and how to safely handle swimming pools to provide protection, prevention and safety for community members.
