Artists assemble! Abu Dhabi’s first creativity festival is set to take place in October 2021

All the artists in the Middle East, brace yourselves as the region’s first creativity festival is set to take place in October and we couldn’t be more excited. Launched by the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism in collaboration with Semi Permanent, the event is set to take place October 14 to 16 at Manarat Al Saadiyat.

The festival that is themed –Bridges is set to bring artists from all genres under one roof. Bringing all the international talents from the fashion, design, retail, branding and technology sectors, the event aims to bring out solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges.

“The challenges of 2020 mean there has never been a better time to design a future we can be proud of, together. We are thrilled to bring some of the world’s most inspiring people to this infinite place and have them explore new ideas and possibilities with you at Semi Permanent Middle East” said Ali Hassan Al Shaiba, executive director of the festival in a statement.

The event is set to see various international guests including British-born, Oscar and Grammy-winning songwriter, record producer and DJ Mark Ronson. The event will also see Rotterdam-based object designer Sabine Marcelis launch her bespoke collection in collaboration with Celine and Burberry. Turkish-born, Los Angeles-based new media artist Refik Anadol will also be there to create an exclusive large-scale installation in the emirate.

With Abu Dhabi’s ever-growing cultural growth, the region has become the international epicentre for art, design and technology and it has positioned as a gateway to the Arab world, Africa and Asia and to make it an ideal host.
