AJMAN, August 22 / WAM / The Municipality and Planning Department of Ajman has announced the continuation of the work on the Al Ittihad Street development project, the completion rate of which has reached 10% since the beginning of the development work last July for the current year 2022 to include the construction of a bridge on Al Ittihad Street consisting of three lanes for vehicles coming from the Emirate of Dubai towards Sheikh Khalifa Junction with the provision of a traffic light at the junction of Al Ittihad Street and Kuwait Street under the bridges, in addition to the construction of a bridge for them , coming from Al Hassan bin Al Haitham Street heading outside the emirate from Ajman Industrial Area towards the Emirate of Sharjah, in line with the strategic objective of developing an integrated infrastructure Strengthening the interdependence between the elements of infrastructure and residential communities.

In this regard, the department clarified that the alternative diversion from Al Ittihad Street contributed to smooth traffic flow and avoided round-the-clock congestion and queues, and urged residents and visitors to the emirate to follow the directional signs and use the diversion, which was designed in accordance with the highest standards for international standards and requirements for traffic volumes, to achieve traffic safety and non-conflict. Sharjah towards Sheikh Khalifa Junction, in addition to two lanes towards Al Nuaimiya area.

His Excellency Abdul Rahman Muhammad Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Municipality and Planning Department, on his part inspected the progress of work on the Al Ittihad Street development project, which will be fully completed by October next year, and explained that the project falls within the second package of the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman to develop infrastructure in the emirate.

He emphasized that the wise leadership of the emirate paid remarkable attention to the lively street, which witnesses constant movement round the clock and is a link between the regions of the emirate and other emirates. Qualified skills worked to study the current situation on the street and determine all the necessary requirements to reach the stage where the design for the project is prepared, ensuring a better service for road users.

Abdullah Mustafa Al-Marzouqi, director of the road and infrastructure department of the department, for his part, gave an explanation about the project and its objectives, explaining that the project will include entrances on both sides of the road to achieve traffic safety requirements, in addition to providing a rainwater drainage network , and organize infrastructure services in the project area.

He explained that the expansion of the project covers the borders of the Emirate of Ajman at the Wasit station until the intersection of the Sheikh Khalifa Bridge, noting that the project contributes to serving the infrastructure projects implemented in the emirate, including the development of Al . Nuaimiya area, and improving the entrances to the emirate being developed in the Al Tallah area on Sheikh Mohammed Street Bin Zayed .. The project also serves the future development of Al Ittihad Street.
