DUBAI, August 1 / WAM / Al Jalila Foundation, a member of the institutions under the umbrella of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, celebrated the graduation of 70 new trainees as part of the eighth group of “Ta’alouf” – the teacher training program, which aims to provide teachers in public and private schools with the skills necessary to strengthen children’s determination.
The program has so far contributed to making a difference in the lives of 231 students of determination, directly and indirectly enriching the experiences of 11,700 students in the UAE, as part of Al Jalila Foundation’s efforts to improve the lives of individuals through innovation in the medical fields.
The teacher training program was launched in partnership with Zayed University and with the support of the Ministry of Education and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority. The programme, which was presented in English and Arabic, was attended by teachers from across the Emirates of more than 12 nationalities, 70% of whom are UAE nationals.
Dr. Abdul Karim Sultan Al Olama, CEO of Al Jalila Foundation, said: “The completion of the eighth batch of our training program is another milestone in our commitment to achieve social inclusion as parents, teachers, strategic partners and society at large. to empower children with determination.. We have put social inclusion at the heart of the goals of the “Ta’alouf” program and we will continue to implement this program in our classrooms, playgrounds and in our communities so that all children have the opportunity to reach himself, regardless of his needs. And the extent of the support they have been given to help their students and unlock their best potential.”
He added: “At Al Jalila Foundation, we are committed to providing the most effective educational program to improve the lives of children with determination. Today, as we celebrate this new cohort, we feel great pride and gratitude for this opportunity which has contributed to empower state-level teachers and provide them with exceptional skills to ensure continuity of care between the child’s home and school.”
Abdul Karim praised Al Jalila Foundation’s partnership with Zayed University, saying: “We are partnering with Zayed University to make lasting and significant contributions in all areas that serve individual learning experiences and enrich educational practices that meet the special needs of students.”
The comprehensive training program includes monthly training sessions, in addition to participating in professional learning groups and individual mentoring sessions, participants must also present their portfolio before the exam. A total of 32 initiatives were implemented in schools across the Emirates to promote the principle. The initiatives also included information sessions for students, parents and teachers, in addition to buddy programs and a number of other initiatives aimed at improving the learning experience for children with determination.
Since the launch of the program in 2014, with the support of partners and donors, the Al Jalila Foundation has invested 3 million dirhams to provide teachers with the necessary knowledge to empower children with determination and help them achieve their ambitions and increase their potential.
Dr. For his part, Clayton McKenzie, Vice-Chancellor of Zayed University, said: “Today’s celebration of the eighth batch of the Ta’alouf Teacher Education Program embodies a great achievement in our partnership with the Al Jalila Foundation. Zayed University has always supported distinguished training and development programs that are coordinated and carefully designed by the Institute Community Engagement /ICE/ which aims to meet the specific needs of various government agencies, universities and sections of Emirati society at large.. We work hard to support the cultural, social, economic and educational development in the UAE by offering various programs and activities for joint training and development to meet the needs of different community groups.
The number of batches graduating from Al Jalila Foundation in partnership with Zayed University has so far reached 8 batches, with a total of 548 teachers who have graduated from 163 public and private schools across the Emirates, confirming the foundation’s commitment in children with determination, their happiness and well-being.
