Emirates News Agency – “Sharjah Consultant” reviews the efforts and activities of the Theater Department at the Department of Culture

Sharjah, 6 June / WAM / Committee on Education, Culture, Media and Youth Affairs of the Emirate Advisory Council Sharjah was briefed on her efforts, roles, future activities and role in support theatrical artists and continue to organize theatrical days.

The visit comes as part of the committee’s work during the third ordinary meeting of the tenth parliamentary term and within the framework of its tours to review the performance of cultural institutions. The committee’s delegation included Dr. Hamid Jassim Al-Suwaiji Al-Zaabi, Committee Chairman and Members of the Committee, Sharifa Musa Al-Mazmi, Committee Rapporteur, Nabila Ali Al-Hammadi, Aisha Bukhatir and Sheikha Ibrahim bin Juwaid. He called on Al-Bali Al-Dhahouri and the Secretary-General of the Council, Huda Al-Hammadi, to be the secretary of the committee.

Dr. Humaid Jassim Al Suwaiji Al Zaabi stressed the importance of the committee’s visits to the theater’s management and to inform it of its continuous work throughout the year, a translation of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council and ruler of Sharjah in taking care of theater, and praising the administration’s efforts in the Ministry of Culture’s work to take care of theater. And the presentation of events and continuous days that strengthen the orientation of the Emirate Sharjah in supporting theatrical actors.

Ahmed Muhammad Burhaima, Director of the Theater Department, in turn praised the zeal of the Advisory Council for promoting the cultural landmarks of the emirate, as Sharjah is a pioneer in all its cultural, artistic and theatrical programs at the local, Gulf and Arab levels, and it has also taken on global roles in this regard.

He pointed out that the administration, as part of the Ministry of Culture, is pleased to inform the committee of theatrical aspects, plans and programs implemented during the year in the field of theater, both in the Emirate of Sharjah and abroad. regularly under the patronage of His Highness Sharjahs rulers through the participation of theater groups and work to support them and strengthen their roles and the roles of theatrical movements on a permanent basis.

During the meeting, members of the Sharjah Consultative Committee discussed a range of scenarios that would support theatrical movements in the Emirate of Sharjah, including festivals, the discovery of talented people, especially in schools, support capacities, writers and actors, providing an incubating environment for theatrical works.
