ABU DHABI, Sep 15 / WAM/ The United Arab Emirates has welcomed the US initiative to allocate a fund to meet the needs of the friendly Afghan people, which will help achieve economic stability.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said in a statement that the United Arab Emirates welcomes the announcement by the United States and a number of international partners of an initiative to manage US$3.5 billion in reserves in the Afghan central bank, which will be allocated to finance the needs of the Afghan people and help mitigate the effects of the economic and humanitarian challenges they face.
The ministry added that the UAE looks forward to this step that facilitates the delivery of urgent needs, and reiterates its support for all international efforts aimed at achieving stability and prosperity for Afghanistan and its people.
