WAM UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has underscored the need to keep the dialogue between Russia and Ukraine open, during his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg.
Sheikh Mohamed has also briefed the Russian leader on the Ukrainian side’s position on a number of issues.
President Putin on the other hand has expressed Russia’s appreciation for the UAE’s endeavors, noting that they are a testament to its readiness to support mediation efforts.
During the meeting, Putin also provided a detailed brief to Sheikh Mohamed on the situation at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant and on Russia’s efforts to maintain nuclear security.
