Hessa Buhumaid: The wellbeing path continues to be an integral part of the government work system in the UAE

Her Excellency Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development and Chairperson of the Wellbeing Council, chaired the third meeting of the Wellbeing Council in the year 2022 held at Etihad Museum in Dubai to coincide with World Mental Health Day, coinciding on 10th October to discuss a range of wellbeing initiatives at the government level.

The meeting was attended by members of the Wellbeing Council including undersecretaries of federal ministries, senior top management of federal authorities and executive councils all over the UAE.

During the meeting, Her Excellency emphasized that the process of wellbeing will continue, because it is an integral part of the system of government work in the UAE pointing out that there are many initiatives, programs and policies were launched under the Wellbeing Council which achieved important accomplishments such as the National Wellbeing Strategy 2031 and daily life areas affecting the wellbeing of individuals, society and the nation, and the wellbeing  monitoring system to measure the state of wellbeing in the UAE and other ongoing initiatives.

During the meeting, the members of the meeting reviewed the economic wellbeing strategy in the UAE attended by Excellency Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy. Additionally, Excellency Laila Al Suwaidi, Acting Director General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) gave a presentation about the highlights of the “Positive Mental Health Guide in Workplace” which was prepared by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) and Ministry of Community Development (MOCD); Amal Al Balooshi, Director of National Program for Happiness & Wellbeing at the Ministry of Community Development reviewed the latest developments of the National Program for Happiness and Wellbeing and highlighted the latest results of the National Wellbeing Survey 2022, which is implemented periodically every two years.
