New research published by the Indian Hindustan Times confirmed that laughter has a number of health benefits as it helps to relax, reduces stress and anxiety, improves immunity, resists diseases and helps burn extra calories.
Pallavi Joshi, a consulting psychologist at the Sri Balaji Medical Institute in New Delhi, said that laughter relaxes the body and muscles, improves the recovery of the nervous system and stops the effect of negative emotions and thus prevents feelings of depression.
Laughter maintains blood sugar levels and helps you sleep better, and cheerful people who tend to laugh and have a good sense of humor get healthier with age.
