MD & CEO of DEWA receives Malaysian

Dubai, UAE, 8 March 2015: HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) received at his office HE Dato’ Ahmad Fadil bin Shamsuddin, Malaysian Consul General in Dubai, and HE Neermal Shunmugam, Consul at the Consulate General of Malaysia in Dubai. The Malaysian delegation visited DEWA to prepare for the visit of HE Datuk Wira Roslan Ab Rhaman, CEO of Tenaga Nasional Berhad, the largest power company in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, who will lead a high-level delegation to DEWA.

The delegation reviewed DEWA’s successful experiences. DEWA adopts an integrated strategy to exchange international best practices and benchmarking with regional and global organisations.

This visit supports DEWA’s strategy for sustainable development by providing energy and water services according to the highest levels of efficiency and reliability. It also confirms DEWA’s leadership in this area as one of the most sustainable and efficient organisations in the world.

Al Tayer emphasised that DEWA will provide every support to facilitate the delegation’s visit. He noted that DEWA is committed to exchanging the best experiences and practices with its partners in power generation, transmission, and distribution, research and development, and renewable energy. This contributes to enhancing its operational excellence for all partners and stakeholders, to achieve the objectives of Dubai Plan 2021, and establish Dubai’s position as a global hub for trade, finance, tourism, and sustainability.

The Malaysian delegation thanked Al Tayer for the warm welcome. The Malaysian Consul General appreciated DEWA’s support and its role to enhance cooperation in different fields.
