The Department of Social Services in Sharjah is eager to provide initiatives to serve pensioners and their families who benefit from social assistance in the department, within the project “Sultan for Decent Living” Its mission lies in a society that enjoys prosperity, decent life, quality of life and building supportive proactive social systems that achieve family stability.

Alia Al Zaabi, Director of the Department of Social Assistance in the department, stated that the initiatives are aimed at achieving family stability for pensioners and their families, and the department will work with continuous follow-up on their conditions and their families so that they can cope with the burdens of life and its requirements.

She said: The number of beneficiaries is 274 from the category of retired family attached to the department, and the initiatives include many activities for retirees and their families and are divided into several programs, the first of which is follow-up on the financial rights regarding the families of the deceased pensioners, and speed up the procedures for the wife to obtain an old-age pension.

Providing the service of granting “aids to the families of pensioners”, especially the widow who is in the waiting period, as the department is working to not stop the salary and also help her to get it and not to wait for her waiting period So far, 32 families and 209 cases of retirees and their families have been registered in the home care to follow up on their health, get medical examination and take advantage of the center’s programs and services.
