The Sheikh Zayed Book Award, organized by the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, affiliated with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, has announced the opening of nominations for its next seventeenth session, starting from this month of June to the first of next October.
The announcement comes after the success of the previous sixteenth session, which received the largest nominations in its nine departments since its inception, as the number of entries that reached the award reached more than 3,000 entries from 55 countries, including 20 Arab countries, an increase of 28% in during the fifth session Ten of the Prize in its nine branches, literature, translation, development and nation-building, Arabic culture in other languages, children’s and youth literature, art and critical studies, young author, publisher and cultural techniques, and cultural personality of the year.

The award receives self-nominations from the authors themselves, in addition to the nominations by publishers who can submit book nominations issued by them after obtaining the authors’ written consent, and with respect to the terms of nomination for the Sheikh Zayed Book Award, all nominated works must have been published over the last two years and must not have been. She has won excellent international awards, and the nominated original works must be written in the Arabic language, with the exception of the works nominated within the “Translation Branch (whether works are translated from or into Arabic), and the works that are nominated in the field of “Arabic culture in other languages”, which are accepted works published in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Russian. literary bodies and universities or from three prominent intellectual and cultural personalities, while applicants to other branches must complete nomination forms via the website for the prize itself.
