Senate resolution recognizes March as Social Work Month and March 19 as World Social Work Day

WASHINGTON – Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema introduced a bipartisan Senate resolution recognizing March as Social Work Month to honor and support Arizona social workers.

“Social workers perform essential services for Arizona students, seniors, and families – and we’re proud to support and celebrate them,” said Sinema.

Sinema’s resolution uplifts social workers and highlights the essential work they do to promote the health and wellbeing of Arizonans. It also designates March 19 as World Social Work Day.

Sinema, a licensed social worker and a long-time professor at ASU’s School of Social Work, built a comprehensive social work team in her Arizona offices with specialized expertise to help connect Arizonans in crisis to emergency services, financial assistance, and other benefits they are eligible to receive.
