Bid Managers from across the country

Some of the countries leading Business Improvement District (BID) managers were in Winsford recently, for a meeting to share their knowledge and best practice.

The face-to-face meeting, which hosted by Groundwork and local company Synetiq, took place at Winsford 1-5, Britain’s longest running industrial Business Improvement District (BID). It included representatives from BIDS from as far and wide as Penrith to Truro.

Schedule for the day

The morning session began with an introduction to Winsford 1-5 from Groundwork’s Director of Business, Greville Kelly and was followed by Q&A session. Attendees were then given a tour of the Winsford industrial estate, followed by a presentation by OneTek on the estate’s recently upgraded CCTV/ANPR smart security system.

The event concluded with updates from attending BIDs, discussions on lessons learned and reflections on current challenges and future opportunities.

Events like these really help to strengthen the entire BID community.

Winsford BID Manager Hugh Shields said, “It has been really enjoyable and productive to meet our counterparts managing BIDS in other parts of the country. We are all working within our own regions to support businesses and stimulate economic growth and events like these really help to strengthen the entire BID community.”
