Dubai – McDonald’s UAE has launched a new Pick-Up Service that allows customers to order their much-loved McDonald’s meals in advance, with a convenient option to suit their schedule.

By simply selecting the “Pick-Up Service” option on the McDonald’s app homepage, customers will be prompted to pick their meal options and restaurant of choice, where their order will be waiting when they arrive, safely packed and ready to go.

The innovative service, which is a new addition to the McDonald’s app in the UAE, is in keeping with the brand’s customer-centric ethos. Earlier in the year McDonald’s UAE implemented Contactless Delivery, which included cashless payment and social distancing drop-offs to ensure the safety of both its customers and delivery drivers. The new Pick-Up Service has been designed with convenience in mind for those who want their desired menu items without the wait.

“Over recent months we’ve seen double digit growth in orders placed via the McDonald’s app. With this in mind, it allows us to tailor our business offering to meet our customer’s needs, and the Pick-Up Service is a great example of that. With convenience at its core the service offers another way for our customers to get their hands on their favourite McDonald’s meals on the go,” said Walid Fakih, General Manager at McDonald’s UAE.

“We appreciate that now more than ever people are time conscious which is why the Pick-Up Service provides a wait-free solution, whilst guaranteeing the same high level of service and safety standards that our customers expect from our restaurants,” added Fakih.

The Pick-Up Service is now live on the McDonald’s app with collection available at all McDonald’s restaurants across the UAE.

About McDonald’s UAE:

Operating since 1994, McDonald’s UAE today has more than 180 restaurants across the country. We are committed to the quality of the products we serve to our customers and maintain an active social responsibility agenda.

In an ongoing effort to improve communities and highlight the environmental benefits ‘of our actions, we have significantly reduced our carbon footprint since the launch of our biodiesel initiative in July 2011. 100% of McDonald’s used vegetable oil is collected from our outlets across the UAE and converted into 100% biodiesel, which is used to fuel the company’s logistics fleet.

In addition, we pride ourselves on being a local member of the community. In 2018, we signed a Cooperation Agreement with Emirates Red Crescent, to consolidate efforts and support their charitable and humanitarian initiatives.

In 2015, we launched the ‘Planting a Greener Future’ campaign with Emirates Environmental Group. As part of the initiative, to date, students from 18 schools across the UAE planted 960 indigenous trees covering a total area of 9,000 sq-m. Since its launch, the ‘Planting a Greener Future’ campaign has reduced CO2 levels by 5.68 metric tons. The initiative is now in its 3rd phase and aims to raise awareness amongst the student community about the importance of the environment and actively encourage them to take ownership of its preservation.
