This epochal trip to five continents is part of the TEAM EXPO 2025 Co-Creation Challenge. This Expo program aims to accelerate the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Road to EXPO 2025:
The ship will return for the opening of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai On her Blue Voyage, MS PORRIMA is slated to visit five continents (Asia, Europe, Africa,North and South America) to share innovations with people. This is part of the TEAM EXPO 2025 Special Supporter program that aims to realize the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Powered by solar, wind and hydrogen energy:
MS Porrima is a Swiss experimental vessel that runs solely on renewables solar, wind, and hydrogen power. It circumnavigated the globe between 2010 and 2012 using solar energy alone. Then it sailed around the world with an artificial intelligence kite, featuring robotics complemented by hydrogen that was generated on board. The MS Porrima left Osaka, Japan on December 18, 2021 and is now in the early stages of another global voyage.
