Mount St. Joseph University will be hosting the Solo Strings Festival on June 8, 2024, at the Williams Recital Hall. This event is open to all string students from preschool through high school. The festival provides students with an opportunity to showcase their musical talents to professional adjudicators and receive constructive feedback. Participation in the Solo Festival is highly beneficial for students, as it helps them develop confidence in their playing and receive valuable insights from professional musicians.
Students, please make sure the piece you are performing is no longer than 3 minutes. Be prepared to perform a major scale, two octaves preferred, and provide 1 physical copy of your piece for the judge to review, with cuts marked, if appropriate. Performance with accompaniment is preferred, but not required. Performers that desire accompaniment, need to provide their own accompanist.
Performances will be held in Recital Hall. Check-in will be in the Lobby of Recital Hall. Practice rooms for warmups will be available.
