Nissan Unveils Futuristic Electric Minivan – The Hyper Tourer

Nissan has revealed its latest concept vehicle, the Hyper Tourer, ahead of its debut at the Japan Mobility Show later this month. Unlike its predecessors, which focused on urban transportation and outdoor adventure, this electric minivan is designed to bring people together for both business and pleasure.

One of the standout features of the Hyper Tourer is its “omotenashi” design, which embodies Japanese hospitality. It also boasts advanced technologies like autonomous driving and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) connectivity, allowing the vehicle to power various devices and even homes.

Visually, the Hyper Tourer impresses with its smooth body panels complemented by sharp, angular points throughout. Its striking aesthetic draws inspiration from traditional Japanese beauty, incorporating “kumiko-patterned” wheels and premium lines.

Step inside the spacious interior, and you’ll find 360-degree-swivelling front seats that encourage face-to-face conversations between the driver, front passenger, and rear-seat occupants. An overhead console on the roof and a flat LED panel on the floor create an immersive visual experience, with images of a riverbed and the sky.

Passengers in the back can interact with the navigation and audio systems through a wearable display. The van’s onboard artificial intelligence (AI) monitors each occupant’s biometric signs, such as brain waves, heart rate, and breathing, and adjusts the music and lighting accordingly.

Nissan plans to equip the Hyper Tourer with solid-state batteries and an e-4orce all-wheel drive system. This concept minivan will make its physical debut at the Japan Mobility Show 2023 from October 26 to November 5.
