Nissan Unveils Hyper Tourer: A Futuristic Electric Minivan

Nissan has recently unveiled their latest concept, the Hyper Tourer, a sharp-edged electric minivan that combines futuristic features with a design inspired by Japanese hospitality. Unlike its previous concept models, the Hyper Tourer is designed to bring people together for both business and pleasure.

One of the standout features of the Hyper Tourer is its “omotenashi” design, which embodies Japanese hospitality. This concept minivan also offers autonomous driving capabilities and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) capability, allowing it to power devices and homes.

Visually, the Hyper Tourer stands out with its smooth body panels and sharp points, creating a visually striking appearance. The design of the minivan is also influenced by traditional Japanese beauty, with its premium lines and kumiko-patterned wheels.

Inside, the Hyper Tourer offers a spacious interior with 360-degree-swiveling front seats. This feature is intended to encourage face-to-face discussions between the driver, front passenger, and rear-seat occupants. To enhance the ambiance, an overhead console on the roof and a flat LED panel lighting up the floor with images of a riverbed and the sky can be found.

Rear passengers can interact with the navigation and audio systems via a wearable display, while the minivan’s onboard artificial intelligence (AI) monitors occupants’ biometric signs such as brain waves, heart rate, and breathing. The AI adjusts music and lighting to suit their mood accordingly.

The Hyper Tourer will feature solid-state batteries and an e-4orce all-wheel-drive system. It is set to make its physical debut at the Japan Mobility Show 2023, running from October 26 to November 5.
