If you’re anything like me, you experienced FOMO (fear of missing out) after Shane Smith & the Saints performed at Red Rocks last night.
After their magical headlining set last year at the Morrison, Colorado venue, combined with the release of their critically acclaimed album Norther and their Live At Red Rocks album, the audience in the amphitheater last night was in for something special.
Not to mention, they were joined by the men of 49 Winchester, making it for a night filled with unreal country music.
Leading up to the concert, the Austin, Texas band shared on social media that they would be offering a free live stream of the show for free via their YouTube channel.
But also, if you are anything like me, you’re often in bed by 8 PM, which means the livestream occurred while I was probably entering my first REM cycle of sleep. Thankfully, for those of us who are not night owls, Shane Smith and the Saints left up the live stream on their channel so I could enjoy it continuously.
While nothing will compare to being at the show physically, this live stream of the set will tide fans over until they can make it to their next show. The camera work of the live stream captures how electric the crowd was throughout the whole 2-hour set.
However, one of the best pieces of information disclosed during the show was that Shane Smith and the Saints plan to host their own music festival in Stanley, Idaho.
“So we spent many, many years in our 20s playing up in the Pacific Northwest in places like Montana and Idaho. I’m proud to announce that we are actually hosting our very first-ever music festival. We are throwing our own music festival this summer, and I’m announcing it right now—in Stanley, Idaho, in July.
The weekend of July 13th, we’d love to see you out there if you want to come hang out in the Sawtooth Valley with us.”

I don’t know about y’all, but I know what I want to be doing on July 13th. If you want to hear it from the horse’s mouth, Smith shares this news around the 22-minute marker. However, the whole Red Rocks set is well worth the watch.
Talk about a helluva announcement to drop during an already monumental show.
