ABU DHABI, July 13, WAM / Abu Dhabi Cultural and Heritage Festivals and Programs Committee has announced the opening of registration for the “Prince of Poets” program for its tenth season for those wishing to participate via its website until the 12th. August.
The program’s organizing committee specified the registration mechanism for those wishing to participate, starting by entering the website, in addition to its conditions, which are that the poet’s or poet’s age is at least 18 years and a maximum of 45 years, and submit a vertical poem of no more than 20 verses and not less than 8 verses or send an activated poem of no more than two syllables without the number of lines for each syllable exceeding 15 lines and the poem being printed as handwritten poems is not accepted.
She pointed out that those wishing to line up for the new season can view the full information on the steps and the process of electronic candidacy via the official website of the program princeofpoets.ae, and the jury will in turn sort the nomination applications, evaluate poems and conduct interviews after the end of the registration period according to exact technical and monetary criteria for selection of the list. The winner of the first place will receive the title “Prince of Poets” and Burdah, which represents the historical heritage of the Arabs, and the ring symbolizing the title of the emirate, and one million dirhams, equivalent to 272,000 US dollars, while the second place holder will receive 500,000 dirhams, and the third place receives 300 thousand dirhams The prize for the fourth place is 200 thousand dirhams, and the prize for the fifth place is 100 thousand dirhams.
